, ingenious comic artist and Legend of Zelda fan that he is, stated what everyone who has played Skyward Sword thus far was thinking. Given, Link and Zelda's backstory and characters are a lot more fleshed out in this one, and there's definitely some romantic tension simmering between the close friendship that our two predestined protagonists share... but it manifests itself in quite the dangerous and yet hilarious way. I mean, sure, all of the Skyloft knights and knights-in-training have their own Loftwing that they can summon at will in freefall, but that doesn't make shoving someone off a launch ramp floating X miles above a magic cloud barrier that's about as solid as the ground below any less dangerous. Still, to be honest it is kind of cute, and it definitely matches the somewhat feisty personality that later incarnations of Zelda share. (I'm looking at you, the ones from Wind Waker/Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks). And while yeah, that one time Link's bird didn't show up because it got captured by the local Jersey Shore wannabe, and Zelda had to jump after him with her own, the fact is that Skyloft is pretty high up, and there's still plenty of time to either grab your parachute or your bird before you end up as a crater on the surface of ancient Hyrule.
That said, I'm sure you guys now realized that I am now obsessed. Well, I'm not going to talk about it anymore, because whenever I talk about my favorite game it tends to go on for quite some time, during which any unsuspecting eavesdroppers will be bombarded with a barrage of SPOILERS. So I'm keeping my mouth shut for now.
That said, Thanksgiving was ok,.. given, there was barely anyone here this year but the food was nice.
Also, for those of you who aren't friends on Facebook and IRL, Patrica and I are officially dating. Given, we didn't have much time to spend since Sunday (when we made things official.) Monday she had homework and a migrane, Tuesday she had to leave to return for the break, and well you know the rest. But she'll be back this coming Sunday. I already have an idea for a Christmas gift for her (hint: MOAR ZELDA!!!), and I'm planning on using some of my Xmas money to invite her on a proper dinner-and-a-movie date. I hope she likes sushi, I haven't been to Mizu in like forever.
Here's hoping that our relationship is long and fulfilling, and that she doesn't decide to pull a Zelda when we're sightseeing in the Rockies, because I don't have any means of landing safely from freefall. And that would suck.
