A Vampire: The Requiem story
Dramatis Personae
Protagonists:
James [Played by Patrica Miller]
A young but filthy rich vampire of the Daeva clan, James is the textbook definition of "playboy." He believes he's God's gift to both women and men, and most of the other heroes [Especially Tan'ae] regard him with some distaste, as quoted once by Tan'ae: "He'll sleep with anything that breathes, and some things that don't." Despite this, he is a kind-hearted person, and while the idea of a monogamous relationship repulses him, he sees his massive entourage of sexual partners as people, and not just objects. He seems to have taken a particular interest in Tan'ae, mostly due to her feisty rejection of his advances. Like most other Daeva, he is very choosy about the sort of people he will prey on for blood; the blood of anyone with less than high-middle class wealth will usually make him sick.
Ta'nae [Played by Kevin Sutherburg]
A combination of being raised by extremely free-thinking parents and growing up in Rachel, Nevada has given Tan'ae Dulahan (Her last name being derived from a kind of Celtic faerie that takes the form of a headless rider) an almost unhealthy obsession with anything paranormal, supernatural, or extraterrestrial. (Rachel, NV lies almost next door to the legendary secret research base operated by the U.S. military, known as 'Area 51', which the town uses as a trap to lure in tourists). After graduation, she moved to Las Vegas with her surrogate little sister, Lorelei; together the two began a paranormal investigation agency. Ta'nae was bitten and turned in 1995 while investigating an old mansion with Lorelei. The mansion was supposedly abandoned, but was actually home to a somewhat anti-social vampire that rarely ever ventured outside, even to feed. Lorelei, who was ten years younger than Tan'ae at the time, is still with her, and is the only human who knows of Tan'ae's vampirism. Though most vampires consider a mortal's knowledge of their existence to be a capital crime, Lorelei has sworn to keep her secret in exchange for Tan'ae's protection from less understanding Kindred.
Tan'ae dresses in Goth clothing, has green eyes, long, black hair, and two tattoos, a crescent moon and a pentagram, on her chest above her bustline, which she accentuates with low-cut tops. She is exceptionally attractive and is not afraid to use looks to get her way; however, she tends to react violently to unexpected and unwelcome romantic advances, a fact that James has discovered already. Despite being a supernatural creature herself, she has not given up her obsession with aliens, apparitions, and the occult; in fact, the proof of the existence of vampires has drove her to even greater tenacity in her search for anything paranormal.
Tan'ae is very moody; though generally friendly (or as friendly as a vampire amongst mortals can be), she is prone to fits of uncontrollable rage. In addition, while she can technically drive very well, her defiance of authority as well as a bad case of road rage compels her not just to ignore traffic laws but intentionally break them. She owns a Mazda RX-8 with a turbocharger and nitrous kit, and her driving rampages have become so legendary amongst the Las Vegas Police Department that she is now pursued by police crusiers whenever they see her, regardless if she was driving recklessly or not. Her Nevada Driver's License has been marked as permanently revoked bceause of this. She is also skilled in using firearms, and carries a Glock 9mm and two extra magazines with her at all times.
She and Lorelei still run the paranormal investigation agency. It's been almost 20 years since she was turned, and Lorelei now appears to be 10 years her elder, when in reality she is 10 years younger. Lorelei has been debating whether to let Tan'ae bite her and become a vampire herself; currently she is content in her mortal form, although she has told Tan'ae that her mind may change in the future.
Tan'ae is a member of the Mekhet clan.

This isn't my story, it belong to Dani, but I figured as one of the main characters I can write the novel adaptation from the perspective of my character Tan'ae.
And yes, Tan'ae is female and I am not. That's one of the cool parts of roleplay games like this. This is a continuation of one of Dani's campaigns set in Victorian England, which I played as another char, but he died [getting ripped in half along one's anatomical line of symmetry is instant death even for vampires, apparently], so I made a new one, and since all of the other player characters were male I decided to switch things up a bit. Also, since James is being played by my girlfriend Patrica, I figured it would be fun for her to play a guy and me to play a girl.
Anyways, this dramatis personae is incomplete, mainly because I have to ask the others for basic character history and whatnot. For the most part this is told from Tan'ae's point of view, so I'm limiting my knowledge of the other characters to what Tan'ae has learned in-character, but I still need some background. I'll also be creating a second dramatis personae to list the antagonists and non-player characters, who are all played by our Game Master, Dani Kronick.
