Description

This started out as a line drawing in class and quicky turned into an experiment with the different abilities in Photoshop. Basically the outline was drawn in normal pencil, then inked over with blue pen before being scanned. Once scanned, I used PS to fill in the color and then the brush tool - with some blur added - to erase the ugly lines that appeared at the point where the digital color met the color from my pen. I simply traced the outline in whatever color was on the inside of the line, then again with the outer color. The final stroke was blurring the outer border with white, which adds a cool effect, almost as if she's standing with her back to a powerful light source i.e. the sun.

Anyways, the character is unnamed. The yukata is based off of the one that the girl was wearing during the last few minutes of the animated movie Summer Wars, which was given to her by her grandmother, the head of the family.

This is more or less an exercise to get me back into gear, it's been so long since I've drawn, I'm afraid I've lost my touch. That's soon to change, though.

PS: The title I thought was cool, since "g" is both the last letter in "morning" and the first in "glory" and "y" is the last letter in "glory" and the first in "yukata". So I just took out the second "g" and "y" and strung them together.
